Uh Oh

I forgot to cancel the reservations I had for this weekend. I feel awful, so I am taking three of the dogs in. The kennel says that wasn't necessary, but honestly, when you reserve for 6 dogs on a holiday weekend....She said she hadn't had to turn anyone away. OOOOH.

So, I'm taking in Greta and Cody, who despise fireworks, and Oliver, who doesn't like to be too far from Cody. Lily and Bitty can't hear them (Bitty doesn't hear well either) and Prissy could care less-besides, she has a class tomorrow night.

It's funny, no one is bothered by fireworks when they are crated in the house-it's the daytime poppers that really get my dogs going. I don't like them very much either.

That's good that they don't seem upset about it and that you are still taking some dogs in. We haven't experienced fireworks yet. I can't imagine it will go over very well though.

Greta was thrilled-as she is with anything that involves a car trip. Inside the vet she slipped her collar and jumped into the tech's arms.

Cody, who was pouting (he doesn't like the car) immediately decided HE wanted to go see the tech, but to no avail-Greta got to go back by herself.....

Another tech came out and Oliver stepped up to go so Cody flopped on his back in complete and utter dispair at being the last chosen. I picked him up for a cuddle and sent him back with Oliver. They'll have a big old time marking the dog yard in the back.

I can't remember, is it the first or fourth of July Americans let of fireworks? What is it celebrating? We only let off fireworks on New Years Eve but kids like bangers on weekends!

Fourth, celebrating our freedom from British tyranny (at least until the Beetles took us by storm...)

don't get me started on fireworks and cruelty to dogs/all animals..it really angers me that most people don't give a second thought to how they scare the living shit out of animals with their fireworks....grrrr....
