How Highs the Water Momma?

Record rainfall in Oklahoma. I have set boundaries-if they dogs want to be water dogs they can run in and out-but must stop at the sun porch that has indoor/outdoor carpeting.

I don't know that they love the rain, they just love the yard and running around and if the rain is part of that, so be it. There is a lesson there for us all.

Now that I am in and getting settled, I am also mourning the loss of Dolly a bit-especially at nap time. That was our special time together-she always loved to nap with me and sleep with me when I visited. She hated storms and rain though, so it's nice to know the weather won't be bothering her.

All together now!

After many set backs and fine adventures, we are all once more in the same house. Due to the deluge of rain we've had in OKC the new couch is now annoited with the smell of wet dog and the new floors have paw prints. Thank God!

Prissy has sampled the corner of the new couch and has shredded a packing box. Thank God we are all here. One chair hasn't arrived yet, but it will soon and someone will jump up on it with wet paws.

It was really uncomfortable being here before the dogs came in and made themselves at home.

The spotties were the last to arrive this afternoon (rain kept them at Mom's) and they are prancing all over the house and backyard claiming it all. Greta and Cody got here yesterday so they are busy catching up on naps on the couch.

I don't have a dog door installed so I just propped the backdoor open and they have all been playing in the rain because they CAN. I love my dogs.

Oi Vey Where are they?

Lessee-cat is in Dallas-she's supposed to be in OKC but went over the fence. Snakes in OKC-Zsa Zsa was injured-wrapped herself up in a bag and constricted herself-but she was doing ok when I left. Dottie and Prissy are holding down the fort at Mom and Dads-and the biguns are at the kennel in OKC. I'm in Dallas.

Dottie is sticking very close to Daddy who is still grieving the loss of Dolly. In fact she paid me little attention when I was there-his was the lap that needed her most. She is my little ambassador of love and comfort since I can't be there.

It's hard to believe that on Wednesday evening we will all be moved and together once more-it's been ages since we've all been together.

In the meantime I'm staying at Sue's and sleeping on the oh so comfie couch with Buddy (150 pounds) and Mia (70 pounds) and various cats. Pasht is holding down the fort at the old house. Buddy has decided he can't sleep all night without peeing and will place his giant head on my chest so I'll get up and let him out. Then he needs a scratch and a cuddle and he'll go back to bed. He's old. Mia doesn't move the entire night, but grumbles and groans in her sleep.

I'm working at the old house during the day, wrapping up and Pasht supervises-so she doesn't feel abandoned.

Oh how nice it will be when we are all in one spot!
