WET COLD SLICK

My dogs aren't snow dogs or ice dogs either for that matter. After all these years and all those dogs, I still crack up every time I see a dog try to walk on the ice without putting his or her feet down.

Bitty and Dottie do it best-they have the long spindly legs that make it so much more comical. Tink tink tink tink tink tink they walk, legs splayed out trying to find a dry, warm not slick spot that does not exist. Wobble wobble wobble, heading for the potty spot, until finally the just give up and plunge squat wherever they happen to be.

Then they slowly turn, and tink tink tink they head back. A temporary truce has been granted to the dogs behind us, all seem to agree, even the husky, it's not worth barking about in this weather.

Tink tink tink, tink tink tink, back to the warmth of a cuddly blanket or lap, pausing to glare at me for allowing such inclimate weather.
