I tossed some kibble out for the kiddos to search and feed on. I don't really like them sniffing in the grass (some of them have allergies) but they ARE dogs and they love the game. Clouds are building so it looks like they are going to be indoor dogs again today-but Daddy is coming down to put together the patio furniture so they will have plenty to do assisting him a little later on today.
Most of the dogs on this street are indoor-outdoor only to pee dogs. A very big change from Oklahoma 20 years ago, and I'm glad. I will section off the house, or crate if I don't want to be bothered, but I'm happiest when the kiddos are in the house with me or playing outside the window where I can watch them.
I can't even leave them in the backyard if I walk down to Mom's, one house down. I wouldn't leave a diamond ring out in the backyard, and the pois are more priceless than jewels.....my treasures.
I left a lot of good "stuff" in Dallas, downsizing houses is tough/fun. But every animal, even the wayward Andy Warhol, made it here. I have critter friends all over the country-always willing to pile up on the couch or give me a snuggle. And I cherish them all. But "home" is where the pack is.
