Building fences
Things get really complicated sometimes. My backyard backs up to my neighbor’s driveway-and my dogs bark at him when he gets in his truck. He yells at my dogs, which of course makes them bark more.
I am putting up a temp fence to cut the back yard in half and I’ve sent him a letter asking him to please call me rather than yell at the dogs. All this comes to a head as I plan my move to Oklahoma in 6 weeks. There is simply no rest for the wicked.
I was nice in my letter-and I left out the part where I told him I was moving (no need to give him that heads up). I also left out the part where I hoped the new tenants had two teenage boys to entertain his teenage daughter as well as a pair of nice, friendly, pit bulls. I want to be nice, because I do believe in Karma.
I do understand his annoyance (the schnauzers next door drove me crazy too). But HE is the one who chose to buy a house where the driveway backs up to another persons back fence. And his attitude is partially responsible for my not wanting to buy that duplex and put in a permanent fence. So, I will act honorably until I leave, and then trust in Karma to settle any debt.

A BRAG
I had a perfect, four dog in individual crates, turned around and waiting for the treat, morning this morning. YAY Prissy! Now THAT's what I'm talkin about!

The pack is complete
The home range is secured and a full accompaniement of dogs are policing the area. The schnauzers have been repelled at last. (Ok, their owners moved, but let the chi's enjoy their victory.)
However, we are going to Oklahoma soon (moving) and there will be new backyards to secure and lands to conquer. Let the Okie dogs be warned.

Home Again Home Again Ziggity Zig
Spotties have landed. Prissy has a lot of attitude adjustments to make and I am busy helping her make them. I go pick up Cody and Greta tonight and we’ll be back to a full house.
Right now I am pretty preoccupied with human being issues-moving, the aged, working, what I want to be when I grow up. But it is nice to have the dogs with me to help sort things out. Of course priorities for the new house will be what is best for the dogs-I am really well organized when it comes to priorities.
Prissy is a prime example of what happens when you tell a dog what you don't want it to do. She's just completely confused about what I want, so she follows the only clear direction she has had for several months-what she pleases.
But, she's also learning the times they are a changing-I just have to keep repeating my mantra-it's not her fault, it's not her fault. Patience.
